Frequently Asked Questions
Q: When and where was the church founded?
A: The church was founded in Vienna in the year 1994.
Q: Why is a woman heading the church?
A:Head of the Lord's Pentecostal Evangelistic Ministry is God Himself. God in His Omnipotence chose a female vessel to birth the ministry through, and that is why LPEM has a lady-Evangelist as founder. We believe the power of God works in men and women alike, as "God created them male and female". However, this is not to say that we believe women are spiritual heads in their homes; as the Bible is very clear on that.
Q: What does "pentecostal" mean?
A: The Word "pentecostal" means "related to or pertaining to Pentecost" and implies the empowerment of and the filling by the Holy Spirit (according to Acts 1:8 and Acts 2:1-4)
Q: What does "evangelical" mean?
A: The Word "evangelical" means "related to and in accordance with the Gospel according to Jesus". It implies that all our teachings are exclusively founded in the Word of God, the Bible. We have no authority other than the written Word of God.
Q: How do I become a member of the church?
A: To become a member of the ministry by expressing a desire to be one, completing the membership form, and undertaking a basic class outlining our doctrine, vision and beliefs. We further expect members of the church- should they not already have done so- to be baptised and thus declare and profess their decision and commitment to Christ publicly.
Q: How do I join a department or become a volunteer in the church?
A: There is no politics but simple order in our ministry. You become a member by expressing a desire to do so and use your gifts and talents. Should you not be sure of what department to join, there are ministers who will gladly take you through a "Spiritual Gifts Discovery" briefing and help you discover your God-given talents, which will help you decide what departments to join. Alternatively, there are always departments looking for volunteers/members. Simply speak to a minister in church. Foundation for every worker is becoming a member of the church (see previous point).
Q: I would like to know more about the church. Where can I get more information?
A: If there are any questions not answered on this website, simply contact any of the ministers or come into one of our branches and see someone in person. You can arrange a meeting either via the Contact Form or by sending an Email.
Q: I need counselling. Whom can I contact in that regard?
A: Please contact one of the ministers, either via telephone, email or Contact Form.
Q: I would love to be baptised. How do I go about that?
A: Getting baptised is a wonderful decision, and a very necessary steps. During the summer months there are ongoing Baptism Classes help at our Vienna branch. Should you wish to be baptised outside of these, then please speak to Pastor Marcus or Evangelist Mrs. Makinwa. They will be glad to arrange a brief Baptism Class for you, take you through the meaning and importance of baptism, its Biblical instructions, and baptise you as soon as possible.
Q: How do you baptise?
A: Just as Jesus was: immersion. Why we do this will also clearly be explained during the Baptism Class. We do not "sprinkle" blood but fully immerse you; signifying being buried and resurrected with Christ, according to the Scripture.
Q: I would like to invite the Evangelist to minister in my church. What is the procedure?
A: Please contact the Evangelist directly (email, telephone) and discuss this in person. Alternatively, you may also send a formal Letter of Invitation to the HQ (Vienna): Stuwerstr. 1-3, A- 1020 Vienna, Austria.
Q: I don't live in Vienna but would like to receive updates on what is happening at L-PEM still. How?
A: We update this website on a regular basis and all news and upcoming events will be posted here. You may also wish to fill the Contact Us Form, which will allow you to say "Yes" to being added to our Mailing List (Newsletter). This letter (in the form of an email) will be sent out to people on a quarterly basis to inform you on what has been happening in the ministry, or give you information of upcoming events.
Q: I would like to use some of your materials for private use. Is this permitted or do I have to contact someone about this?
A: You are free to use any of our published and/or posted materials for private use. However, you may not replace any of our publications and claim ownership over them, add your name/logo/ministry to any of our publications, or charge people for these. We believe the Word of God was freely given and must therefore be freely given as well; not in exchange for monetary or otherwise material goods. Should you wish to have many of our publications to give out (bulk) please contact one of our ministers. If there is a need for reprinting any materials, they would have to be covered by you or a sponsor.
Q: Can I make contributions online?
A: At present there is no option of making contributings online. However, please do contact any of our ministers if you would like to bless the church in any wise. It will always be welcomed and appreciated.
